Custom Knife Raffle Entry

J.R. Mease 32° K.∙. C.∙. C.∙. H.∙., and member of The Valley of St Joseph, has a lifetime of blacksmithing and metal work ranging from aerospace engineering and machining in California, to metal shop foreman at Rockhurst University in Kansas City. Heading into retirement, J. R., decided to return to blacksmithing which has always been his passion. Called Widow’s Son Forge, J. R., forges every type of high-end custom fixed blade Bowie and hunting knife. His own signature knife however, “The Grizzly Bear Skinner”, named after his deceased, best canine friend, Solid Liver German Shorthair Pointer, Jackson, the shape originally inspired from the 7th century Nepal Kukri arch modified drop handle knife, made of forged high carbon steel manufactured in an assortment of lengths. But that is not all he can do. He will even custom design a kitchen knife for the lady of the house!

Pictured above, is J.R.’s custom Skinner knife donated to The Valley of St Joseph for raffle. Valued at $450, tickets are $5 each or six for $20 or twenty tickets for $40. All contributions from ticket sales go to the Preservation fund, for urgently needed repairs for The St Joseph Valley Temple.
